Infringing my rights

So,  I decided to take a walk and do some photography.  I was on a mission to take photos of some bridges.  In the middle of taking photos I was approached by some security guard. He informed me as per usual in these circumstances that I may not take photos.

I told him he must be smoking his socks.  I was standing on public property. What a load of bullocks.  Then I was approached by his boss who told me that I was breaking the house rules.  I told him I didn’t pass a security boom.  I walked there.  There is enough space in the world for everyone but some people have to believe that they are the sole proprietors of permission.  I don’t believe in terrorists.  We are not the terrorists.  Those who perpetuate bad news are the terrorists.

As far as I am can concerned they lay the blame at the wrong door.  Here is another photo I am supposedly not supposed to take.

Lynwood bridge is pathetic.  I never signed anything when I came here.  There are no signs saying no photography.  Everyone can use their cell phones anywhere. We live in an age where everyone has a cell phone.

People,  you’d better wake up before one day when you wake up you’ll be told you have no rights.

  1. Wow. I can’t believe it. When we were last there, I took heaps of photos, non stop, even standing on that bridge. With a cell phone any my Nikon cam. I agree, there are no signs anywhere saying not to take pics and it’s a public place just like anywhere in Pretoria where we’ve been and taken pics. This is sad and ridiculous to have someone come up to you and say this. Don’t let this episode put you off. Keep exploring with your camera and enjoy the experience. I wished I had done it more back in the day xoxo
